Some of our more recent library acquisitions are as follows:

A Beginners Guide to the Old Testament          Arthur E. Zannoni

Beginners Guide to the New Testament        Arthur E. Zannoni

These two books help make the Bible accessible for the average believer,

while providing depth and insight that is unique and creative.

It is not only beginners who will find these books meaningful and instructive.

The Doors of the Sea :  Where was God in the Tsunami?    David Bentley Hart

Hart examines Christian attempts to rationalize the tsunami disaster. He contends that

the history of suffering and death is not willed by God. Rather than appealing to a divine

calculus that can account for every instance of suffering, Christians need to recognize

the ongoing struggle between the rebellious powers that enslave the world and the God

who loves it.

This meditation will challenge serious readers grappling with God’s ways in a suffering world.

Walking in the Kingdom of God       Carl F. Peltz

This book is intended to help the reader find God in the hustle and bustle of the pre- Christmas

Season. It contains a series of reflections, prayers and activities based on the Advent gospels.

Eucharist is the Entire Pattern of Our Life

The above heading is the title given to a three session series on the Eucharist which was
offered in May to parishes in Geraldton.
Each session included the viewing of a section of a DVD, Do This in Memory of Me, from the
Emmaus Series presented by Fr. John Thornhill s.m., as well as prayer, reflection, discussion
and song.
Those who attended enjoyed the café style relaxed atmosphere in which they were invited to
learn more about the Eucharist, through Fr. John Thornhill’s presentations.

Articles by other authors encouraged further discussion as they opened up more insights into the understanding of Eucharist

and its impact on our lives.

As part of the parish response to the Year of the Eucharist proclaimed by Pope John Paul 11, these sessions helped those

who participated to connect the Eucharist to their daily living so as to have a greater sense of living the challenge of the

Eucharist.

One of the participants summed up the response of members of the group at the end of the sessions by saying that the

series had helped her to appreciate the central place of Eucharist in her life.

Other programmes in this series include: Following the Way of Jesus; Getting to Know the Real Jesus; An Authentic

 Spiritual Life.
