PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL 3rd SUNDAY LENT

For an awareness of God’s holiness.

Moses stood on holy ground and was afraid to look at his God. May we be aware of God’s holiness and be filled with a sense of wonder at what God has done for the people.                        LORD, HEAR US.

For a desire to please God.

May we be filled with a desire to please God in life, aware of he power of sin and fearful of how it can control us; and may we repent of those things that turn us from God’s ways.

LORD, HEAR US

In this time of Lent, may we seek reconciliation with God and with one another; and by our prayer and fasting be renewed in our desire to live as God wants.  LORD, HEAR US

For a spirit of obedience to God.

May we seek to obey God’s will. acknowledging our God as Lord of the universe whose ways are not our ways and who commands us to bear fruit in how we live and what we  value.

LORD, HEAR US

COMMUNION ANTIPHON

The sparrow even finds a home, the swallow finds a nest wherein to place her young, near to the alters, Lord of hosts, my King, my God! How happy they who dwell in your house! For ever they are praising you.

REFLECTION FOR ALL COMMUNITIES.

Today’s Gospel challenges the Christian Life. What do I need to “cut out of my life?. How do I nourish and cultivate those areas of our lives that  are bearing fruit already?  Do I appreciate God’s  presence in other people, in nature, but hardly ever notice it?    Do I experience God’s love in   my family, but never spend time with family.?

How can I be more responsive to the Spirit of God in my life, family, workplace, Community?

Blessing on your week, reflecting  on he above questions.   Sr. Anna

A “VERY WARM” WELCOME BACK, SR. ELLEN!
