altAs Dominican women energized by the Charism of St Dominic, we the Dominican Sisters of Western Australia continue to strive for Truth as we Praise, Bless, Preach in our communities of holy Preaching.

We recommit ourselves to work wholeheartedly for Social justice throughout the World. Supporting our Dominican Sisters through Dominican Sisters International.
Continuing our support, including financial assistance, of the Dominican Congregations in our Asia Pacific region.

Promoting inter-faith dialogue as we learn about, and from, other Religions.
We share the world wide concern today for the stewardship of creation.

We commit ourselves, individually and corporately, to study and address local environmental issues, especially climate change, and to implement appropriate changes.
As we minister to others through our preaching and teaching, we are ever open to new ways of evangelizing and educating.

It is by serving one another in a caring way that a true community is established.
For as Hans von Balthasar has beautifully put it,
'€œby the help we give we create meaning for others'€...
The community'€™s whole life is to be an expression of a desire for love and peace.

Vision Statement

We are:

* a welcoming community which reaches out to all
* celebrating Christ's presence
* joyfully living out our Christian calling across distance and diversity

This vision states that as a Diocese, we aim to be a welcoming, missionary, centred on Christ, and each striving to live one's particular vocation. It is in living out our calling that we praise God, follow Christ, influence society and achieve the goal of eternal life won for us by Christ. In the parishes we have encouraged people to measure whatever they do against this Diocesan vision.
