Mullewa Parish Celebrations

On Sunday 3rd of May 2026, Bishop Michael Morrissey travelled 100kms east, inland to Mullewa Parish to officially Install Fr Savio Nguyen as Parish Priest of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Parish Mullewa.

The Parish area of Mullewa is quite an extensive area, including the parishes of the Church of the Holy Cross Morawa, 98kms south, and St Joseph’s Perenjori, a further 40kms south.   Also including the region of Yalgoo and the monthly Supply to the Inland Parishes of Meekatharra, Cue and Mt Magnet, all sitting within a 440km distance north of Mullewa.

Close to 80 parishioners and friends of all parishes braved the chilly May morning to attend the 8am Mass, some travelling some distance to do so.

Following the Mass everyone enjoyed a ‘Bring & Share’ and a warm ‘cuppa’ together in the school grounds.

Vision Statement

We are:

* a welcoming community which reaches out to all
* celebrating Christ's presence
* joyfully living out our Christian calling across distance and diversity

This vision states that as a Diocese, we aim to be a welcoming, missionary, centred on Christ, and each striving to live one's particular vocation. It is in living out our calling that we praise God, follow Christ, influence society and achieve the goal of eternal life won for us by Christ. In the parishes we have encouraged people to measure whatever they do against this Diocesan vision.
