Anointing of the Sick

"Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven". [James 5:14-15]

This is why the Church administers the Sacrament of the Sick. Any member of the Faithful may receive this Sacrament as soon as he or she begins to be in the danger of death because of sickness or old age. Examples for this would be prior to an operation, being hospitalised, terminal illness etc.

The Parish celebrates a Mass with Anointing at least once a year to which all our infirmed and elderly are encouraged to attend to receive the special Anointing.

If you or any of your loved ones are ever in need of this Sacrament, please phone the parish office at any time of the day or night.
